If you mostly drive short trips (5-10 min) and then leave car sitting for couple of days the battery may not get enough sufficient charge during short trips and start to deteriorate. Also if you leave your vehicle parked for several weeks and let battery charge go to zero, this also reduces battery capacity even if it works ok again after jump start.
